GLASS HISTORY

GLASS HISTORY
Whenever we talk in the invention of glass, the Phoenicians are the first to stand out. Legend tells that some Phoenicians, after landing on the Syrian coast, set up camp and built a fire on the sand with bones and trona. Shortly after, a bright liquid dripped from the fire and solidified quickly.
Even with this history, the Phoenicians should not be the ones to receive the glory. In ancient Egypt, archaeologists have found the material in the form of colored glass beads, necklaces, earrings and blown bottles. In the international setting, glass is "an inorganic product of fusion which has been cooled until the stiffness, no crystals forms."
